Sermon for the Second Sunday after Pentecost, by the Rev. Richard A. Burnett, Rector

“Found in Translation…” A three-part series in June

Beginning today, and continuing for the next three Sundays in the sermon, the Rector will explore several meanings, expressions and uses of translations that shape our lives and strengthen our faith. The old saying, “every translation is a faithful betrayal,” will be the starting point for these meditations on the uses of translation—of texts, of beliefs, of life experiences—by us in our daily lives.

Readings for this day:

1 Kings 17:8-16 (17-24)

Psalm 146

Galatians 1:11-24

Luke 7:11-17 New Revised Standard Version

NIV -New International Version
